The jersey launch war between Nike and Adidas shows no signs of abating in the run up to the World Cup. Nike recently revealed the Brazil third strip of very dark green.
The shade of green “pays tribute to the dynamic and diverse country, from its natural landscape to its vibrant culture,” sccording to the sportswear giant.
“Similar to Brazil’s national home jersey, the third uniform displays an illustration on the inside of the collar. Created by Bruno Big, a designer from Rio de Janeiro, the illustration shows a hand in a figa – the Brasilian equivalent to the “fingers crossed” gesture, a traditional superstition believed to bring good luck.”
The shorts are inspired by surfer-wear.
