Argentina’s River Plate are back in the Copa Libertadores final for the first team in 19 years where they’ll face Mexico’s Tigres. Here’s the best of the semi-final action, on and off the pitch.

The Republic of Ireland’s draw with USSR in 1988 is considered among our best ever displays and one man in green had an inside line on the opposition. Tony Galvin studied Russian at university and shocked the Soviets by conversing with them in the warm-up before his teammates shocked them on the pitch in a game we should have won against the eventual finalists.
