PUMA have released the new Italian home and away kit for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. The shirts will be worn for the first time by the Azzurri against Spain this week.
This weekend the shirts will commence on the Celebri-Amo La Maglia Tour (the Celebrate the Shirts Tour), as the 23 squad shirts that will be worn by at the World Cup are taken on a tour of major cities including Milan, Naples and Rome, allowing fans the chance to show their support for the team.
The four-time World Cup winners have worked with PUMA since 2003. The new compression shirt features PUMA ACTV tape which aligns with muscles used during play. The tape is “strategically placed within the garment to provide micro-massages on the skin, working with the human body to help maximise performance and provide players with a faster, more effective energy supply to the active muscles.”
The design of the shirts is inspired by the heritage of the traditional Italian handcraft industry. A slim fit and a tailored collar and placket are beautifully combined with intricate design details. The tailored looking crest and exclusive FIGC font are inspired by traditional Italian craftsmanship.
