Dundalk FC – The Captain’s Armband

In sport, the captain’s armband is more than a piece of fabric. Its real weight, and everything it symbolises, is immeasurable. A badge of honour, an unspoken commitment and fearless leadership. Dundalk sponsor Fyffe’s latest video tells the story of the Lilywhites as seen through the eyes of club captains, past and present.

As a club with a proud legacy of great leaders, ‘The Captain’s Armband’ places its focus on current Dundalk FC captain Stephen O’Donnell, who, along with previous captains John Murphy (1962/63) and Dermot Keely (1979/81), share their own experiences of the responsibilities, expectations and pride that comes with wearing the coveted armband and leading the team out on to the hallowed turf of Oriel Park.
