Martin O’Neill has announced his first squad as Ireland manager for the friendly with Serbia at the Aviva Stadium next month. There’s been no recall for Shay Given, whose loan spell at Middlesbrough expires at the end of February. Ipswich’s Daryl Murphy makes a return to the squad but there’s no room for Stephen Ireland. Although O’Neill oversaw the games with Latvia and Poland, he inherited those selections from interim coach Noel King.

Birmingham goalkeeper Darren Randolph and Newcastle’s Rob Elliot, who was called up for the games with Germany and Kazakhstan, will deputise for player of the year nominee David Forde.

Robbie Keane has not been asked to travel from LA with the MLS season beginning on March 3.

Form players Seamus Coleman, Andy Reid, and Simon Cox are all included for the game on March 5 in Dublin. O’Neill announced the squad in Limerick ahead of the qulaifying draw for Euro 2016 on Sunday with the 29 names being trimmed closer to the fixture.
