IRISH footballing legend John Giles celebrates his 70th birthday today and marked the occasion with the launch of his new autobiography and a Late Late Show tribute.
Billo, Chippy, and Eamon were also among the massive attendance at the AVIVA Stadium this week for a special function to honour the much-loved television pundit and to support the publication of what is sure to be a much sought-after book ‘John Giles – A Football Man’.
“He was a legend on the streets as I was growing up and he became something very rare — a prodigy who goes on to achieve greatness as a footballer…As long as football is played in this country, he’ll be remembered. He’s a great man, not a good man.”
