Dundalk FC – The Double 2015

The 2015 season will forever be etched in the memory of everybody associated with Dundalk FC and a new publication, launching this Saturday will provide supporters with the perfect memento of an amazing campaign.

The Double, a 280-page book will tell the story of Dundalk FC’s historic year that ended with Stephen Kenny’s record breaking side crowned SSE Airtricity League champions, FAI Cup winners, Leinster Senior Cup winners and President’s Cup winners.

Produced by Dundalk Democrat Sports Editor Gavin McLaughlin, local photographer Ciaran Culligan and designed by local studio Grandson Design, the book covers all 52 games of an unforgettable campaign, from the opening pre-season match with Warrenpoint Town on February 3 right through to the incredible day at the Aviva Stadium on November 8 when 12,000 Dundalk fans cheered the Lilywhites on to beat Cork City and secure the club’s third league and FAI Cup double.

Other notable highlights include the night when Dundalk completed back-to-back title wins for the first time ever with a draw against Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght, the record breaking title party against Bray Wanderers at Oriel Park and who could forget the ‘Demolition Derby Part Two’ when a rampant Dundalk put six goals past their Louth neighbours, Drogheda United, at Oriel Park.

The club’s return to European football’s biggest competition is also featured with both legs against Belarusian champions, FC BATE Borisov, covered in depth and there are reaction pieces from each member of Dundalk’s double winning squad, along with first-team coach Vinny Perth.

There is also a 30-page photo gallery dedicated to the Lilywhite Army, the fans who have supported Dundalk both at home and abroad in 2015, a comprehensive stats section and words from the mastermind behind Dundalk’s league and cup double, as manager Stephen Kenny gives his thoughts on a magical season.

The publication will be available to buy from local Dundalk stores, including Goldstar Jewellers, Pinstripe Punk, Print Express, The Dundalk Democrat and Muckian’s Spar on the Carrick Road. The book is also available online at www.dundalkfcthedouble.bigcartel.com
