Wonderkid Neymar scored all four goals as his Santos side defeated Uniao Barnarense in the Sao Paulo championship to spark further rumours that he will follow in the footsteps of Ronaldinho by signing for Barcelona. As the stories rumble on as to where the Brazilian superstar goes next, his father and agents were said to have been in Catalonia at the weekend to negotiate a sponsorship deal that raised suggestions they were also there to speak to the Nou Camp outfit.
The striker has consistently been linked with a move to either Barca, Real Madrid or Chelsea. Last week, former Nou Camp star Giovanni van Bronckhorst urged Neymar to link up with Messi at the La Liga side before next summer’s World Cup.
And Neymar seemed to court the favour of the Barca faithful following his four goal haul.
“Who is not a fan of Barcelona?” he told Sport.es. “I’m happy and I appreciate their affection and support. Regardless of whatever team I sign for, I’m one of the happiest people in the world.”
“When my family and I are ready, we will be happy to speak, but for now I ask for calm.”
It’s the second time the Brazil forward has scored four goals in a match repeating the feat from Santos`s 4-1 victory over Atletico Paranaense in October 2011.
Last week, Neymar turned in a man-of-the-match performance scoring twice when helping Brazil, captained by Ronaldinho, to a 4-1 win over Bolivia.
