Manchester City officially unveiled their new crest to fans at the Etihad Stadium on the Stephen's Day fixture against Sunderland.

Manchester City revealed their new badge before their 4-1 win against Sunderland on Stephen’s Day.

The new crest took a 30-day consultation period with fans giving their feedback on the elements of the design.

It features the Manchester ship which appeared on all previous versions of the club’s crest. It symbolises the city’s trading links. The Irwell, Medlock and Irk rivers are also included as they appear on Manchester’s coat of arms. The Lancashire red rose is a prominent addition and for the first time on any crest the date of the foundation of the club also appears.
