Nike Hypervenom – The Making of

Hypervenom-Concept-to-Completion

Nike has released these images of the dfferent stages of the Nike Hypervenom boot production on their Hypervenom Facebook page. From concept to completion over a two and a half year period, the pictures show the boot taking shape from a simple mould to a fully formed football boot.

A taper is added to the lacing to ensure the boots fit tight. The Hypervenom features offset laces for a larger surface area to strike the ball. The new Nikeskin boot is a one-piece mesh which is coated with a polyurethane skin. This is different to normal football boots that are made from different parts stitched together. All Conditions Control technology allows the same control in wet or dry weather.

The boot was designed with constant feedback from Barcelona new boy Neymar and Wayne Rooney. Nike designers would fly to Brazil and Manchester to consult with the players at every design stage of the boot. The predatory instinct of the attackers was one of the inspirations behind the Hypervenom.
