Pedal to Poland

Everyone loves a good sing song on the terraces. So in honour of all the great songs being written to support the Irish team this summer at Euro 2012 the Pedal to Poland charity team are hosting the Football Eurovision Song Contest tonight, Tuesday, in The Grand Social, Dublin.

There’s half-time comedy with Fox E and the Good Hands as the house band for the night and will be whipping up a frenzy after the show.

This is a Fundraiser for the Pedal To Poland in aid of Arthritis Ireland, Headstrong and Renewable World.  Suggested donation on the door is €10.

On 30th May 2012 the team of eleven will set out to cycle from Dublin to Gdansk in time for Ireland’s first round match against Spain in the European Championship. They will travel through five countries and cover over 1500km in two weeks while raising money for charity. Each cyclist is asked to raise €3000 to take part in the trip and help to reach the overall goal of €50,000

On the way the team will be joined by cyclists from England, Holland and Germany for stages, and in the spirit of Euro 2012 they might even have a game or two of football (if the legs will let them.)
