He looks like Neymar, he moves like Neymar, and he scores like Neymar. Santos’ new teenage striker Neilton has inherited the number 11 jersey and already has three goals in nine games including a stunning strike last weekend against Portuguesa which has Spurs on alert.
The 19-year-old’s exploits have alerted European clubs with reports linking Tottenham to the winger-cum-striker.
According to Metro, the player “is rumoured to have a £5million buyout clause, but it’s thought that it only applies to Brazilian clubs, and Spurs would have to pay over the odds to get their man.”
With the departure of Neymar to Barcelona, Neilton was promoted to the first team having helped Santos to the junior Copa Sao Paulo title. An academy player from the age of 14, Neilton has shone since his senior call-up scoring twice in last weekend’s Sao Paulo championship game.
