The New York City FC home shirt by Adidas will be worn in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx when the club makes it’s debut bow in the league in the 2015 MLS season. Along with Kaka’s Orlando City the two expansion franchises will bring the total number of teams to 20 in the league which continues to go from strength to strength.
NYC FC has shown a high level of attention to detail when it comes to design. From the outset the Manchester City and New York Yankees owned club has used intelligent marketing campaigns and also allowed the public to decide on its crest in an online vote.
The sky blue shirt features a New York City FC wordmark in the traditional Subway typeface of Helvetica and a specially designed Inaugural Season Patch. Designed by New York designer Matthew Wolff, the patch takes inspiration from the beautiful tiled mosaics found in subway stations across the city.
