Keane: “LOI Players Will Get Chance”

Roy Keane has said, with the fitness levels now in League of Ireland football, the international management will be keeping a close eye on the domestic game. The Irish number two also spoke last week about almost signing for Cork City.

Speaking to RTE’s Soccer Republic, the Irish assistant, who starred for Cobh Ramblers before a move cross-channel, said we’ve seen league players selected in the past for the senior squad, and if he and Martin O’Neill see any they fancy, those players will get their chance.

Last week at the launch Cork City’s Patronage Scheme in UCC, Keane spoke about signing for both Cork City and Cobh Ramblers.

The former midfield master reaffirmed how League of Ireland football helped his career, leading to bigger and better things.
