ONLINE sources are reporting the sad loss of Triggs, Roy Keane’s trusted canine friend.
According to the Daily Mail, Keano’s dog has had his day.
Roy Keane is mourning the passing of his dog Triggs.
“Roy has lost his best friend. Triggs has been a calming influence on him over the years. This news will have the Ipswich players panicking.”
Football-scores-live.com speculated on a tribute ahead of last weekend’s league clash.
“The big question before kick-off was whether the Ipswich players would wear black armbands. Triggs, Roy Keane`s dog, had died. In the event it was hard to tell. Their away strip is all black.”
According to Evening Herald the Ipswich Town manager is inconsolable:
Meanwhile the Mirror is taking bets on the breed of Keano’s next dog.
“There’s never been a fitter dog, not even a butcher’s one, than Triggs, hauled from the fireside whenever his master was under fire. But now he’s gone to that great kennel in the sky and poor Keano must search for another faithful companion.”
According to the Evening Star in Suffolk, Triggs had been suffering from cancer while the Irish Examoiner told us Triggs was aged just nine.
“RIP Triggs. PS All dogs go to Heaven”
However, other sources say he was only playing dead:
Meanwhile Weblo has assured us that Jason McAteer (aka. Trigger) is alive and kicking and was not killed my his former Ireland team mate.
“Just to clarify. Triggs was Roy Keane’s dog. Jason McAteer is alive and well.”
Rest in Paws Triggs.
