GIOVANNI Trapattoni has named the Ireland team for the clash against Armenia on Friday.
Doubts surrounded the inclusion of Richard Dunne, Liam Lawrence, Aiden McGeady and skipper Robbie Keane but all were named in the starting line-up which also features Paul Green.
The 27-year-old partners Glenn Whelan in midfield after impressing in pre-season friendlies where he was on the score-sheet against Algeria.
Kevin Kilbane holds onto the left-back spot and reiterated his commitment to the cause this week while accepting he is under pressure from the youngsters now hovering around the Irish set-up.
The lack of match-practice for some players has been a cause of concern to Trapattoni, and with Armenia representing something of an unknown quantity, the Boys in Green will know they will need to put in a perfomance if they are to kick-start the journey to Poland and Ukraine in the right gear.
