Ireland captain Robbie Keane has spoken about his contract extension at LA Galaxy as the striker scored the winner against Vancouver Whitecaps at the weekend.

The 33-year-old penned a new ‘multi-year’ deal with the MLS side at the beginning of March and outlined how he continues to enjoy his time in California.

“Obviously I’m enjoying my football and that’s the most important thing. I think it was only going to be a matter of time for me signing. Obviously it was done a while ago. I’m very pleased and I think it works out for both myself and the Galaxy”

Keane volleyed home from Stefan Ishizaki’s cross to seal a 1-0 win over Vancouver as the Galaxy posted two victories in succession.
