Former Shelbourne player Stuey Byrne continues to release music after his retirement from football. His newest track is an ode to the game we all love and the memories of playing it as a kid growing up.

He has previously released an EP including the song ‘Superstar,’ inspired by former team-mate and midfield maestro Wes Hoolahan.

The League of Ireland star who now works as an RTE pundit and co-commentator was in the Shels side that famously held Deportivo de La Coruña to a 0-0 draw at the old Lansdowne Road in the Champions League qualifiers.

“This track is about our love for football. Not in the modern commercial sense but in its simplest and purest form as the people’s game. Playing on the road where I grew up from day to night and in all seasons. Just your mates and a ball,” said Byrne.
